I haven't blogged for over a month. The last month of school is so crazy hectic, between getting projects completed, dealing with unruly children, and my normal everyday expectations at home, the end of the school year can get kinda overwhelming.
But today is the day, my first day of Summer vacation...and I am going to enjoy every minute of it. There are a lot of things I need to accomplish this summer, but most of all I need to prepare for next school year. There are a about 4 art teachers in the district who are retiring this year, so that mean full time one-school art positions are going to be available. They are posting the positions tomorrow, so hopefully I will be on top of things and be able to apply for them.
Job fair is next week and then the week after off we go to Teen camp for a week. Technically it is our vacation, but really it is mostly to serve. John really enjoys helping out as a sound technition for the band and this year I was asked to be camp photographer and get lots of cool photos for the camp to post on the website. It should e fun, as long as the weather cooperates and it is not too HOT.
I also need to find a new sitter for Cooper next school year. UGHH! I had so many issues with finding a sitter this year. I went through 4 sitters before the first semester was over. I think I might try the church daycare around the corner from our house, Grace Point. I've heard that daycares are so expensive compares to in home daycares, but I might just have to bite the bullet for the convenience factor.
Many, many, many home art/crafts projects to do this summer, too many in fact to list. I will post before and after pictures as soon as I complete my first one. First being deck chairs that John and I dug out of the trash bin in our neighborhood. One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Happy Summer!
