Spring Break, FINALLY!

I put them in my kitchen to liven up the place and put me in a good mood.  This morning I took a quick trip to the Dr, to get some medicine for this annoying cold I've had for a few weeks now.  Turns out it's bronchitis.  YUCK! I always get this stuff.  All those germy kids I'm around all day I suppose.

John and I are going to spend some quality time together tomorrow, well deserved by the way.  We haven't gone out alone in a month or two.  We're taking a day away to go the outlets in Edinburgh.  I got on-line and printed out tons of coupons for a lot of the stores there, so we should save even more $.  Between our day away trip and fixing the CRV when we get back our tax check will be shot.  It always seems to go so fast!

A lot of projects I want to finish during Spring Break.  I hope I can accomplish them all.  Have a great weekend everyone.  Make sure to check back and see how all my projects are going.  I'll have plenty of time to post them when they're completed.

Springy wreath-DIY project #1

I have been looking at a lot of blog's lately and have been really inspired to get some DIY projects done over Spring break.  Out with the old, in with the new.  It's time to spruce things up a bit.  So here is my first completed DIY project, a spring wreath for our front door.

A soft place to land http://asoftplace.net/  is a great home decor blog and that is where I got the idea.  Here is a picture of her version.

I loved the rustic and simplistic design of it.  And I have always wanted to try making paper flowers.  The yarn wrapping took me a couple nights to do.  Sometimes I can show symptoms of adult ADD, and have to pace myself with projects.  But once the wrapping was completed, the rest didn't take long at all. Very cute idea.  She has a lot of other spring DIY projects you might want to check out as well.
Here is my version.

Making the flowers was really fun and simple. Just some cutting, rolling and hot glue. We'll see if this inspires me to start DIY project #2.
